Day 5

The day started very overcast with much rain promised. All the team therefore togged up with wet weather gear. In line with predictions, the heavens opened with a vengeance. We managed to find a suitable place for lunch, where we made friends with some nice French girls but the Mother in Law soon put a stop to that. Anyway, over lunch, while trying to dry out, it was decided that we had better cut the day short and find a place to stay where we could dry out effectively. That decided, Mother-in-Law and co went ahead, after the French girls had left, to find a suitable venue in Soulac sur Mer. It was here that Support realised that rather than a mini Tour De France, the event had become the Tour Gastronomique where much food and wine was consumed (and Podge was introduced to Fois Grois).
